Visit of Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, July 2025

His Eminence, the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche embodies the grace, wisdom, and compassionate presence of his predecessor, and brings a youthful energy to his office as one of the most senior and respected teachers of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.

We were extremely fortunate that in amongst his busy schedule, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche accepted the request made by TBI Director, Tenzin Dhargye, to visit and give teachings.

Kyabje Ling Rinpoche arrived in Adelaide on the auspicious day of “Great Occasion of Turning the Dharma Wheel,” (Tibetan: Chokhor Duchen), the date that  commemorates Shakyamuni Buddha’s first teaching after his enlightenment. During the evening, TBI teachers and students were gathered in our teaching and meditation hall and recited the Guru Puja. When we reached the verses for offering Tsog, we all ventured outside on a cool Adelaide winter’s evening to await Ling Rinpoche’s arrival.

Adelaide’s Tibetan community performed traditional songs and dances to welcome His Eminence. Ling Rinpoche accepted our offerings of Tsog in a moving and delightful evening of shared practice.

The following two days, Ling Rinpoche gave a teachings on the Eight Verses of Thought Transformation and bestow the initiation of Arya Green Tara.

In addition, Ling Rinpoche performed a blessing ceremony for the site on which TBI plans to build an enlightenment stupa.

His auspicious visit took place on Monday 28th to Thursday 31st July 2025.
