Reincarnation of Kyabje Khensur Kangyurwa Rinpoche

On 31 May 2018, His Holiness the Dalai Lama recognised the child Tashi Phuntsok as the reincarnation of the late Kyabje Khensur Kangyurwa Rinpoche. The child was born in Ladakh to parents, Tashi Tsomo (mother) and Lobsang Dorje (father).

On 29 August 2018, the precious reincarnation of Kyabje Kensur Rinpoche, along with both parents were received in the private chamber of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. At that time, His Holiness confirmed this is the reincarnation of Losang Thubten. His Holiness said that as a young reincarnate lama, Yangsi Chotrul Rinpoche will become important as he grows older.

Yangsi Chotrul Rinpoche entered Sera Jey Monastery in 2018 and was enthroned in November, 2022.

Yangsi Rinpoche received Getsul ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in March 2025, and is currently studying in Sera Jey School.
